Much like the Battride War games, the standard edition of Climax Fighters does not include music from the TV shows (the OPs and EDs), forcing players to purchase the 'Premium R Sound' edition to have these tracks in game.
The game's roster consists mainly of primary Heisei Riders, joined by the secondary riders from the 'Heisei Phase 2' (or Neo-Heisei) series (excluding the ongoing Kamen Rider Build, from which only the titular Kamen Rider Build is playable), as well as a single Showa Rider, Kamen Rider Black, in celebration of Black's 30 year anniversary.
Succeeding the Climax Heroes series of 2D fighting games, Kamen Rider: Climax Fighters adopts a new, 3D battle system, reminiscent of games like Gundam Versusor Dragon Ball Xenoverse.
